It is an expensive place to stay, with imported goods, accommodation and transport all costly, and its former remote-work programme has been discontinued. Internet is the main limitation for remote work: it is weak overall and thins out quickly beyond the three main islands. Healthcare is limited, so good international insurance is essential. The calmer periods between the trade-wind seasons, in April and May and in October and November, are the most comfortable.
